Dublin Horse Show

August is the most important month for horse people in Ireland because of the great horse show!
I have been many show jumping international shows in Europe and i must say Dublin Horse Show is the most enjoyable show! There are so many things going on there.So many different classes for horses and ponies. (Not only show jumping classes.) People here is mad to qualify for this show.And It is hard to qualify! So I must say that you can find good horses here. Problem is those horses are not cheap of cause..
Anyway,many good riders traveled to Dublin this year because this is the final of Meydan FEI nations cups 2009. I went up there just for one day and really enjoyed to see good riders and good horses!

Hickstead Derby

Hickstead is very well known as one of the biggest Derby shows in Europe.

Many top riders traveled to Sweeden last week.

One of the biggest events is Nations Cup. Trophy went to Irish team!

I was reading a horse magazine some time ago and it was telling about the horse "Night Train".
His original name was Calimero des Hayettes Z. He is by Calvaro Z out of Papillon Rouge mare.He did very well as 4 and 6years old in Belgium Championship of young horses. And he got sold to USA through one of the biggest dealer in Belgium. The Irish rider Darragh Kerins lives in USA.I remember that he did well in Las Vegas( World Cup final).

God! Top horses are traveling all over the world! They can be busier than us..

This is one of horses at the stables where i have my horses.

She was bred and produced by the owner here. She has got a great technique and is making so many clear rounds! She just started doing well on 130classes.

Horse Network in Belgium

I have spent 7years in Belgium for my Show Jumping activity.

I was busy going to International shows at the time. So I contacted Mr. Eric Wauters in Belgium to find the stables where i could be based and get good trainings .
One of the biggest reason i choosed Belgium was because of the location.
You can get Holland,Germany,France, in few hours drive!

Eric took me to his place! And I stayed there for 2years until he passed away.
He was a very powerfull man in show jumping field. He was not just a rider. He was the horse event organizer as well. "CSIW- Mechelen" is the one of his shows.
He was a very special man !

After these 2 years, I went to ride horses for different people. I also worked at some very well known show jumping stables.

In those years, I have learned that every stables has their own systems to work their horses. They are all different. I worked for a few big international riders, dealers, also a rich amateur , breeders etc.. I think we all need systems which works well for ourselves and our horses and also have to keep learning!
I was getting much experience with many different horses and people in those years!

A great thing is that I have got some friends i can trust there!
Horse business can be a tricky business. We have to know people well enough !

I believe that having a good connection will be a strong advantage for any activities or business.

Horse riding holidays in Ireland

Few years ago,a friend of mine from USA came to visit me here in Ireland for summer holidays.
She came with her son who is riding ponies and her friend with her daughter.

She wanted to find the place her son and her friend's daughter can ride and get some lessons.

So I send them to the place where they can get siutable ponies and horses and myself went to give some lessons.

Great thing there for them was they went to ride in open field and jumped x-country fences.
These kids really loved it! So did their mothers!
This is the beauty of Irish horses! Irish horses are well known for this job!
They normally go in group with an experienced teacher. So even if it is the first time to do this,there are no worries. It worth trying once. Great fun!
